Watercolor | Making Personal Gifts
There's something nice about adding your own touch to a gift. Lately, I've been challenging myself to make personalized gifts for others rather than buying something generic. When a fellow-blogger, Emily told me about the theme of her future baby's room, I knew I had to give her something personal.
I decided to whip out my watercolor paints, my brushes and paper, and create something that would fit the tropical theme. So I looked up some pictures on Pinterest of plants and got inspired. I wanted to make sure it was specifically for her and her baby, not something I could've re-gifted, and so I added her baby's name in pink and gray. Lastly, I signed the back, got a frame for $6 at Target, and clipped my art on it.
I love how it turned out and was proud to give it to her. I challenge you to try and create something personal for someone else. You can add their name or a small doodle, because making it more personal adds a nice touch. Even if it doesn't look perfect, whoever is receiving your gift will appreciate the thought and effort you put into it.
