It's a New Year
Why is the new year so special?
I've been planning out my resolutions for a while and even had a ton of posts ready to go about them, but I kept getting side tracked. Why did I need to make these resolutions? And what makes a new year better than a new day, week or month? Can't I just create new resolutions every day?
Technically just because it's 2017 doesn't mean I'm doing anything different. Sure, maybe I made a ton of resolutions and goals... but will I follow through with them? Probably not. I'm not trying to be a downer, but it's true and I think we've all been there. We've all set goals for the entire year: workout more, eat better, sleep more, etc., etc. By the end of the year, we still have failed... maybe even by the first few months. Instead of getting back into the resolution we made or the goal we set, we shrug and say oh well I'll start next year. So why even have New Year's Resolutions? When we set such big goals for a large amount of time, it seems like we're just setting ourselves up to fail. Why not just make resolutions on a daily basis?
I think every year can definitely bring about change, but so can every day. Every day we are given, we have the chance to be better. Whatever that means to you, it doesn't really matter... just know that you're capable of doing it every day. You don't have to wait an entire year to do something. Just start now and if you get sidetracked, then get right back into it tomorrow, not next year.
